Mahindra Scorpio ranked first in the top 10 midsize SUV segment in December 2025 with sales of 15,885 units.
The midsize SUV segment remained the most competitive segment in the auto market in December 2025. The sales figures clearly show that while some models are taking off with impressive sales, some SUVs are performing stagnant and some have faced a decline due to increasing competition.
Mahindra Scorpio was at the top in December 2025, with sales of 15,885 units. This is about 3,700 units more than last year and an increase of about 30 percent has been recorded. Thanks to the good response to the Scorpio N and steady supply of the Scorpio Classic, the Scorpio range even overtook the Hyundai Creta in the last month of the year.
Hyundai Creta stood at second place, with 13,154 units sold. Even though it has grown by only 4 percent, its biggest feature is its continued strong sales. Even in this increasingly crowded segment, Creta has been the segment leader for several months in the year 2025.

At third place was Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, which sold 8,597 units and there was an increase of 21 percent on annual basis. The major reason for this growth was the increasing demand for its strong hybrid variants and better supply. This trend was shown more strongly by Toyota Hayrider, whose sales increased by 47 percent to 7,022 units. It was one of the fastest growing midsize SUVs in December. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki Victoris has made a strong entry with sales of 6,210 units in the initial phase of launch.
The Victoris is being sold through Maruti’s regular Arena dealership network and has been receiving a good response from customers across the country since its launch. Next in the list was Kia Seltos, whose sales increased by a huge 54 percent and reached 4,369 units. Its sales are expected to increase further in the coming months with the arrival of the new generation model.
Tata Harrier surprised with the highest growth rate, registering an increase of 82 percent, although total sales remained only 2,378 units. On the other hand, Honda Elevate and Volkswagen Taigun saw a decline of 2 per cent and 24 per cent in sales respectively. In the coming time, both Tata SUVs are likely to get better volumes due to the recently launched petrol versions.
