The facelifted Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be launched early next year, while the XEV 7e,
Mahindra is testing several new models across India to expand its ICE and electric portfolio. Recently, we have seen a pattern in which existing IC-engined SUVs are getting mid-cycle updates. The three-door Thar, Bolero and Bolero Neo are prime examples and this strategy will continue in the near future.
Recently, the domestic manufacturer has been spotted testing the facelifted XUV 700 several times. It is expected to be launched early next year with some major changes inside and out. However, its existing powertrain options of 2.2 liter mHawk diesel and 2.0 liter mStallion petrol engine will continue to be available along with the current transmission options.
Looking at the testing model, it seems that the 2026 Mahindra XUV 700 is heavily inspired by the XUV.e8 concept that was presented some time ago. This will give rise to a three-row electric SUV that will be based on the XUV 700 and we will discuss it later. The front of the petrol-diesel XUV 700 facelift has a redesigned bumper and a redesigned headlamp cluster.
The flush door handles of the current model will remain the same in this SUV, while no changes have been made in the side profile, but new alloy wheel design will be included in it. Although its overall size and window design will remain the same, some new exterior color options may make it more attractive.
New tail lamps and bumpers can also be provided at the rear. The list of features could include a triple screen layout, more upscale Surface trims, more advanced Level 2 ADAS technology, and much more. The XEV 7e will be one of the next electric cars to hit showrooms and may use the same battery pack found in the popular XEV 9e and BE 6. It can be launched in the coming months.
Based on the BE 6, the Rall-E will be a more powerful and off-roading focused version. Along with this, a fully electric (zero-emission) model based on the XUV 3XO can also be launched in the next one and a half years. The BE 6-based Rall-E, which is a more hardcore off-road version, and a zero-emission model based on the XUV 3XO compact SUV are also expected to arrive in the next year and a half. Mahindra had showcased four new concepts and an all-new platform in August. Baby Scorpio, based on the Vision S concept, has also been captured on camera during trials, but its launch is likely to happen only in 2027.
