The new Nissan Tekton SUV is expected to get 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.3-litre turbo petrol and 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine.
Nissan has released another teaser image of its upcoming Tekton SUV. Its global debut is going to happen on July 9. In the teaser, Tekton is shown with the company’s flagship SUV Patrol, which clearly shows that the new SUV has got design elements from the Patrol SUV. It is believed that this SUV will become an important part of Nissan’s growth in many markets including India.
The straight and strong stance of Tekton is clearly visible in the teaser. Its boxy front design and wide grille seem to be inspired by the Nissan Patrol. However, to give Tekton a different identity, it has been provided with a full-width LED light bar at the front. Also included is the illuminated Nissan logo in the middle, thin DRLs and vertical LED lighting.
The new Tekton has a high bonnet, large body, roof rails and strong bumpers, which give it a strong look on the road. Its wheel arches also look quite muscular. At the same time, “TEKTON” is seen written in big letters in front of the bonnet. The new Nissan Tekton will be based on the same platform as the recently launched Renault Duster.
Its length can be around 4.3 meters, due to which it will enter the midsize SUV segment. Its three-row (3-row) seating version can also be brought in the future for many markets including India. Engine options could include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.3-litre turbo petrol and a 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine.
Customers are expected to get both manual and automatic gearbox options. Talking about the features, the new Tekton can be given features like fully digital instrument cluster, large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered seats and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Apart from this, Nissan is also working on an affordable electric car for the future. However, at present the company’s biggest hope is related to the new Tekton SUV and its upcoming 3-row version. Both these models can play an important role in increasing Nissan’s sales and strengthening the brand’s presence in many markets including India.
