Many changes have been made in the exterior and interior of the new Hyundai Ioniq 5, along with it it also gets a bigger battery pack with new features.
Hyundai Motor India Limited has launched the updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India at a price of Rs 55.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model has a larger battery pack, updated exterior and interior design, new connected technology and additional safety features, with which the company is hoping to increase its sales in the domestic market.
The biggest change in the new Ioniq 5 is the 84.0 kWh battery pack, which now gives a range of 690 km as per ARAI. This will reduce range concerns during long journeys. This electric car is based on Hyundai’s advanced E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform).
Talking about the design, the Parametric Pixel design language has been retained in it, but the front and rear bumpers have been updated. Also new skid plates, new alloy wheels, new rear spoiler and V-garnish lighting element have been provided at the rear.
The interior gets a new 3-spoke leather steering wheel, which has a four-dot illuminated pixel design and heating function. The center console has also been redesigned and the wireless charging pad has been updated. Also now physical controls have been provided for heated and ventilated seats. Like before, it has two 12.3-inch displays (instrument cluster and infotainment).
In terms of technology, it has the facility of Connected Car Navigation Cockpit system and OTA (Over-the-Air) updates. It also gets Active Sound Design with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, through the new in-car payment feature, users can pay for EV charging directly from the infotainment screen.
Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car technology has now also added remote immobilization feature, which increases safety. For safety, it has been provided with new features like Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (Rear) and Side Parking Distance Warning. The new Ioniq 5 is available in four exterior colors: Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey, and Optic White, with an Obsidian Black interior theme.
