Skoda’s performance sedan Octavia RS received a record-breaking response with all its units sold out within just 20 minutes of opening pre-bookings.
Celebrating its 25 years in India, Skoda today launched the Octavia RS as a limited edition Full-Built Unit (FBU). Its price has been kept at Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The performance sedan was completely sold out in just 20 minutes after pre-bookings began a few days ago, and deliveries will begin next month.
The new Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 PS of maximum power and 370 Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful offering from the brand. Equipped with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Its advanced chassis setup, sports suspension and progressive steering are said to provide smooth ride quality with extremely agile and balanced handling. Its design features full LED matrix headlamps, LED tail-lamps with dynamic indicators, and gloss black accents throughout the model, making it even more sporty and premium.
It has 19-inch Elias Anthracite alloy wheels and low-profile 225/40 R19 tyres, which give it a strong and sporty look. Talking about its size, length is 4,709 mm, width is 1,829 mm and height is 1,457 mm.
Its boot space is 600 liters, which can be increased to 1,555 liters by folding the rear seats. Customers can buy it in 5 attractive colors, which include Mamba Green, Candy White, Race Blue, Magic Black and Velvet Red.
The interior includes suede and leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, sports seats with electric adjustment, memory, heating and massage functions, ambient lighting and a virtual cockpit. It has a 32.77 cm infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, three-zone climate control and wireless charging among other features.
It also gets Skoda’s ADAS suite which includes adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking and intelligent park assist. Ten airbags, 360-degree area view camera, head-up display, ISOFIX mounts and advanced stability system are other safety features. The RS also features an 11-speaker 675W Canton audio system with subwoofer and an electrically operated boot with virtual pedals. The Skoda Octavia RS comes with a 4-year or 1,00,000 km warranty, along with four years of complimentary roadside assistance. Its delivery to customers will start from November 6.
