The Nissan Gravite compact MPV is built on the CMF-A modular platform and will have the option of 1.0 liter NA and turbo petrol engines.
Nissan India has confirmed that its new compact MPV Gravite will be launched in the Indian market on February 17. This new MPV will strengthen Nissan’s hold in the affordable 7-seater segment and will play an important role in the company’s new India product strategy. The Nissan Gravite is part of the company’s upcoming new car lineup, which will also include the Tekton C-segment SUV and a larger 7-seater SUV.
The Nissan Gravite will be produced at Renault-Nissan’s Chennai manufacturing plant, which will also act as an export hub for the global market. It is expected that its delivery will start from next month. The MPV is based on the CMF-A modular platform, which is already localized and shares the platform with the Renault Triber.
However, Nissan has given a special design to Gravitite to give it a different identity. Its look is straight and MPV-like, which makes it look good as per its segment and looks different from Renault Triber. Ahead of the launch, Nissan has also shown a glimpse of the exterior color options of the Gravite.
This car will be available in five colors, which include white, silver, black and gray colors apart from a special teal shade. Design highlights include horizontal LED DRL, slim headlamps and a wide grille with chrome finish. The raised bonnet lines and Gravite branding on the front make its look more powerful.
At the rear, it will get split LED taillamps, horizontal insert, upright tailgate, roof spoiler and layered bumper design. Talking about the engine, it will be provided with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which will be available in naturally aspirated and turbo versions. Both manual and automatic options are expected to be available for transmission.
Inside the cabin, the Nissan Gravit will get a three-row seating layout, which will focus on better space and flexible seat arrangement. Although the complete interior details have not been revealed yet, it is likely to have features like touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls and connected car technology.
