Nissan Gravit and Tekton will be launched in the first two months of 2026 and will be followed by a 7-seater premium SUV in the next financial year

Nissan has confirmed the launch of two brand new models in the Indian market. The Gravit MPV will be launched in January at the beginning of the new year, while the more important Tekton midsize SUV will be launched in February 2026. The Gravitas MPV will be built on the CMF-A platform, which is also used in the Renault Triber.

It will be produced at Oragadam plant in Tamil Nadu. Nissan has said that its booking will start in January and delivery will be given across India from March 2026. The Gravitas will be a 7-seater MPV, with the facility to customize the seats as per the need. In terms of design, it will look different from Triber. A wide black panel and thin LED light bar will be provided at the front, while at the rear, LED taillamps, straight tailgate and gravity badging will be available.

Talking about the engine, Gravity will have two petrol engine options, which will include 1.0 liter naturally aspirated and 1.0 liter turbo petrol. With this there will be option of manual and automatic gearbox. Its starting price may be less than Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), due to which it will compete with Triber and entry-level hatchback cars.

While the Gravitas will help boost sales, the Tekton SUV will be Nissan’s biggest hope for a brand comeback. It will be launched during a special event in February 2026. It will compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra, Tata Curve, Mahindra Scorpio-N in the midsize SUV segment.

The Tekton will be built on the new CMF-B platform, which will be shared with the next-generation Renault Duster. A 7-seater SUV will also be launched on the same platform in 2027. The look of Tekton will be strong in design, in which C-shaped LED lights and light bar will be seen at the back.

Complete details of the engine have not been revealed yet, but at the time of launch it is expected to get manual and automatic gearbox with turbo petrol engine. In future, hybrid and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants may also come in it.
