The new Tata Sierra is available in India with three engine options and deliveries will begin from the middle of next month
The return of the new Tata Sierra has received an overwhelming response in the market. This SUV has received more than 70,000 bookings within the first 24 hours of booking starting. Additionally, Tata Motors has also revealed that around 1.35 lakh potential customers have already configured the variants of their choice and are preparing to complete the booking process.
The special thing is that its booking had just started on 16th December, yet Sierra has emerged as one of the strongest launches of Tata in recent years. Positioned above the curve, the Tata Sierra is slated to be launched in late November 2025 and is priced between Rs 11.49 lakh to Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Customers can book it through dealerships or online by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000, while deliveries are expected to start from January 15, 2026. Sierra has been introduced in several variants like Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+. This SUV is based on Tata’s new ARGOS platform, which supports multiple powertrain options and modern safety features.
Commenting on the booking milestone, Vivek Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, “We are deeply grateful to our customers for this overwhelming response, which reaffirms the iconic status of Tata Sierra. Taking forward its old identity, Sierra has started a new category called premium mid-SUV. The car is designed keeping in mind the changing needs and preferences of today’s customers and is designed to provide a new platform to the mid-size SUV. Presents it in a new style.”
In design, it combines vintage identity with modern styling, which includes LED headlamps, full-width light bar and dual-tone alloy wheels. Talking about engine options, it has 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol (106 PS power/145 Nm torque), 1.5 liter turbo petrol (160 PS power/255 Nm torque) and 1.5 liter diesel engine (120 PS power/280 Nm torque).
Transmission options are 6-speed manual, torque converter automatic and dual-clutch automatic. The interior has features like triple-screen dashboard, JBL sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, level-2 ADAS and automatic climate control.
