Maruti Suzuki India Limited has started the New Year on a high note and has recorded its highest ever monthly sales in January 2026. The company delivered a total of 2,36,963 vehicles last month, which is more than the 2,12,251 units recorded in January 2025. Exports played an important role in this record sales, where Maruti Suzuki shipped 51,020 units to global markets last month.
This is the company’s highest ever monthly export sales, supported by the good response received by models like e Vitara, Baleno and Jimny in the international markets. This figure represents a huge increase compared to 27,100 units exported in January 2025. Sales in the domestic market have also been strong as the recently launched models have received good response from customers.
Total sales in India including passenger vehicle and light commercial vehicle segments stood at 1,78,300 units. Besides, supplies to other automakers (Toyota) stood at 7,643 units, taking total domestic dispatches to 1,85,943 units. Passenger vehicles once again provided a strong base to the domestic business, registering sales of 1,74,529 units.
This time too the utility vehicle segment remained at the forefront in the passenger vehicle category. The company sold a total of 75,609 SUVs and MPVs in January, up from 65,093 units last year. Maruti Suzuki’s popular utility vehicles include Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, recently launched Victoris, XL6, Jimny and Invicto, which are receiving immense love from the customers.
However, the mini and compact segments saw a slight decline in sales. Total sales of these segments stood at 87,006 units, which is less than 96,488 units recorded in January 2025. Entry-level models like Alto and S-Presso sold 14,268 units, while compact hatchback and sedan models like Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR and Celerio together contributed 72,738 units.
Eeco van sales stood at 11,914 units, which is almost at the same level as last year. At the same time, sales of Super Carry light commercial vehicle stood at 3,771 units, registering a slight decline. This strong sales in January has also impacted the overall performance of FY2025–26 (April to January). Maruti Suzuki’s total sales during the period reached 1.98 million units, higher than 1.84 million units recorded in the same period last fiscal. Talking further, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its e Vitara midsize electric SUV in India soon, while work on Brezza facelift is also going on.
