The Tata Intra V40 can run on both CNG and petrol and gets a large 110 liter CNG tank, which helps it cover long distances in a single go.
Tata Motors has today announced the launch of the new Intra V40 in the Indian market. This is a new pickup to join the company’s small commercial vehicle portfolio. Running on both CNG and petrol, the vehicle comes with a 110 liter CNG tank, allowing it to cover long distances between refueling.
This will prove to be especially useful for those customers who operate on fixed routes, where the availability of CNG is not uniform everywhere. The biggest feature of Intra V40 is its payload capacity of 1,525 kg and 2,960 mm long load body, which is said to be the best-in-class among CNG pickups in this segment.
It has a 1.2-litre engine, which produces maximum power of 58 bhp and peak torque of 106 Nm. It has been specifically tuned keeping in mind last-mile cargo operations, where superior low-end performance and mileage are more important. The vehicle is built on a hydroformed chassis, which offers superior strength and refinement.
Tata Motors claims that this provides consistent performance even under heavy loads. The cabin has a walk-through layout and its driving dynamics feel car-like. It has been designed keeping the driver’s comfort in mind to make it easier to drive for long periods of time. Front disc brakes are also standard for better control and safety, which is not commonly seen in this payload category.
With the launch of Intra V40, Tata Motors is now offering four bi-fuel models in the small commercial vehicle and pickup segment – Ace Pro Bi-Fuel, Ace CNG 2.0, Intra V20 Gold and the new Intra V40. These provide options to customers as per different payload needs and usage.
In the electric segment, the company also has models like Ace Pro EV, Ace EV 1000 and Intra EV Pickup. This allows fleet operators to choose CNG, bi-fuel or electric options as per their needs, charging infrastructure and budget. Apart from this, features like real-time vehicle tracking, predictive maintenance alerts and better fleet management are also available through Fleet Edge telematics system. Tata Motors’ Sampoorna Seva 2.0 program provides comprehensive after-sales support to customers.
