The Tata Sierra Electric is likely to get two battery packs similar to the Harrier EV and the larger battery pack will be capable of delivering a range of 500 km
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Tata Sierra Electric will be launched in the Indian market between the first quarter of FY 2026-27 (April to June 2026). Currently, this SUV has been seen several times during testing on the roads. It will be placed above the Tata Curvv EV in the company’s electric lineup, with a more premium positioning.
The Sierra EV is targeted at customers who want a midsize SUV with strong road presence, a premium cabin and a long driving range. Both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive options can be found in it. It will be based on Tata’s Acti.ev+ skateboard platform, which has been developed specifically for electric vehicles and will be used in many upcoming models.
This SUV may share many components with Tata Harrier EV. It is likely to get a 55 kWh battery pack (which will be similar to the Curve EV) and a larger 65 kWh battery pack (taken from the Harrier EV). The larger battery pack can deliver a real-world range of over 500km on a single charge. It will also have facilities like DC fast charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and bi-directional charging.
Talking about the design, its straight and boxy look is reminiscent of the old Sierra model, but the EV version will have a closed grille, full-width LED DRL, split headlamps, newly designed alloy wheels, flush door handles, strong wheel arches and connected LED light bars.
In the interior, Tata Motors will provide a three-screen layout, which will include a digital driver display, a large infotainment screen and a separate screen for the front passenger. The base variant can also be full of features, while the top variant can get features like Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, powered front seats, ambient lighting, 360 degree camera and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Recently, Tata has launched the updated Tata Punch EV, while the first production model based on Tata Avinya is also expected to arrive before the end of this year, which will further strengthen the company’s range of electric vehicles.
