Toyota Kirloskar Motor had earlier (in March 2022) announced that the price of its cars sold in India would be hiked. The company has now announced the amount by which each model becomes costlier. It would be quite surprising to know that the price hike range starts from Rs 36,000 and goes up to Rs 1.75 lakh on various models of Toyota cars.
Toyota’s most popular SUV Toyota Fortuner has become costlier by Rs 40,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh in different variants. This means that the starting model of the Fortuner is now priced at Rs 31.79 lakh instead of Rs 31.39 lakh. On the other hand, the top model (4×4 AT Legend) of Toyota Fortuner is now priced at Rs 44.63 Lakh. Earlier, the top model of Toyota Fortuner was priced at Rs 43.43 lakh.
Toyota’s another popular car Innova Crysta has become costlier by Rs 36,000 to Rs 56,000. This roughly means that the starting price of Innova Crysta is Rs 17.45 lakh. The top model of Innova Crysta (ZX AT 7-Seat) now costs Rs 25.68 Lakh. Earlier, the price of the top model of Toyota Innova Crysta has been Rs 25.32 lakh.
The Toyota Camry sedan has received the highest price hike. The hybrid sedan has received a price hike of Rs 1.75 lakh. At the same time, Toyota Vellfire will be costlier by Rs 90,000. However, the prices of Toyota Glanza, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Urban Cruiser remain unchanged. Hilux has recently been launched in India for Rs 33.99 lakh. At the same time, the price of 2022 Toyota Glanza is between Rs 6.39 lakh and Rs 9.69 lakh.
The company (Toyota) increased the prices of its vehicles due to rising input costs in the automotive industry. Other car makers in India including Kia and Maruti Suzuki have increased the prices of their cars in 2022.
