Bonneville 400, the seventh bike in Triumph’s 400cc range, will give direct competition to the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in the Indian market.
Triumph Bonneville 400 has once again been spotted testing on Indian roads. New pictures surfaced show that this motorcycle is now very close to the production-ready model. Most of the design elements of the testing model are clearly visible. Looking at the continuously emerging testing pictures, it is believed that Bonneville 400 can be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year.
The design of the new Bonneville 400 will be quite different from the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 At its rear, instead of monoshock, twin rear shock absorbers have been provided, which give it a classic Bonneville look. Apart from this, it also has round taillight, rounded rear fender, long single-piece seat and black peashooter exhaust, which further strengthens its retro styling.
Wire-spoke wheels are also seen in the pictures. Road-biased tires have been provided in the bike, while a new sub-frame has been prepared for it. Its design is inspired by the larger Bonneville models and the company is preparing it especially to attract Royal Enfield customers.

Conventional telescopic forks have been provided at the front, on which rubber gaiters have been installed. The wide handlebar, round mirrors and upright riding position give it a classic roadster look. The bike will get a round instrument cluster, while a larger TFT display can also be provided in the top variant. Its fuel tank size appears larger than the 13-litre tank of current Triumph 400cc bikes.
The large tank, long seat and comfortable riding position make it suitable for long distance travel as well as everyday use. According to reports, a new 350cc liquid-cooled engine can be given in Triumph Bonneville 400. It is expected to get features like 6-speed gearbox, slipper and assist clutch, ride-by-wire throttle and dual-channel ABS.
The company can also launch it in more than one variant. One variant will have wire-spoke wheels and chrome finish, while the other variant will have alloy wheels and black-out design. After launch, the Triumph Bonneville 400 will be available for sale along with the company’s Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400 It is likely to be priced against bikes like Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 350, Yezdi 350 and Honda CB350.
