TVS Apache RTX has a starting price of Rs 1.99 lakh and will compete with bikes like KTM 250 Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom SX and Yezdi Adventure.
TVS Motor Company has today launched its first adventure motorcycle Apache RTX in the Indian market. The price of this new adventure motorcycle starts from Rs 1.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.29 lakh (starting, ex-showroom). The Apache RTX is available in three variants, base, top and BTO, with a price difference of Rs 15,000 for each trim.
The base variant gets traction control, cruise control and ride modes, while the top variant gets Class D headlamps with DRLs, bi-directional quickshifter and a 5-inch TFT cluster with map mirroring. The top-spec BTO trim gets adjustable suspension, brass-coated chain and TPMS.
The Apache RTX has a steel trellis frame and aluminum die-cast swingarm. TVS calls it Synchro-Stiff chassis. With 200 mm ground clearance, this adventure bike has 41 mm suspension at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear. The BTO variant has an adjustable suspension setup. Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc brake.
Talking about the features, this adventure bike has a 5-inch TFT cluster that offers map mirroring, GoPro controls, hands-free music controls and more. Additionally, cruise control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), TVS SmartConnect app support and Dynamic Headlamp Control are also part of the package. The bike also has adjustable levers.
TVS Apache RTX has a height of 1400 mm, width of 885 mm, length of 2,176 mm, wheelbase of 1430 mm and seat height of 835 mm. The weight of this bike is 180 kg and ground clearance is 200 mm. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 12.5 liters. Its front tire size is 19 inches (110/18) and rear tire size is 17 inches (150/70).
TVS Apache RTX is powered by the new RTXD4 299.1cc DOHC single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine, which produces 36 PS of power at 9000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of peak torque at 7000 rpm. The engine has been tuned with special attention to low-end torque.
It gets 4 ride modes with Rally, Urban, Tour and Rain and it also has ride-by-wire technology. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slip clutch as well as quickshifter. According to the company, this new platform will also power several other motorcycles from the brand.
TVS is targeting the adventure rally tourer segment with the new Apache RTX. This adventure motorcycle will compete with other motorcycles like Suzuki V-Strom SX, KTM 250 Adventure and Yezdi Adventure.
