South’s daughter touched the sky of glamor
Born on 13 August 1936 in Chennai, Vyjayanthimala belonged to a distinguished Iyengar Brahmin family. His father M.D. Raman and mother Vasundhara Devi, a famous actress and accomplished dancer of her time, left him a rich cultural heritage. Since her mother was busy with her acting career, the responsibility of Vyjayanthimala’s upbringing was taken over by her maternal grandmother, Yadugiri Devi. Nani not only taught her discipline but also gave her a deep understanding of Indian traditions, especially classical dance and culture, which strengthened the foundation of her personality.
Performing Bharatanatyam in front of the Pope in Rome at the age of just four was no small feat, but Vyjayanthi did it. At an early age, she became proficient in Bharatnatyam and Carnatic music. Her grandmother was worried that Vyjayanthi would miss dance and studies if she went to films, but when director M.V. When Raman assured that both studies and dancing would continue, Nani agreed.
Vyjayanthimala became the queen of Hindi cinema

Love a doctor, fight society and get married
After falling ill during a shoot in Mumbai, Vyjayanthimala met Dr. Chamanlal Bali, who was Raj Kapoor’s personal physician. During the treatment, the two grew closer and soon this relationship turned into love.
Dr. Bali was already married and had three sons, but he divorced his first wife and married Vyjayanti. After this Vyjayantimala became Vyjayantimala Bali. His son Suchindra Bali also tried his hand in films, but he could not get the same success in Hindi cinema.
Doctor Chamanlal Bali died in 1986, and after this Vyjayanthi started distancing herself from films and public life.
History created in politics also
Vyjayantimala entered politics from Congress due to her close relations with Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi. After winning the Lok Sabha elections from the South Chennai seat in 1984, he won again in 1989. She was sent to Rajya Sabha in 1993, but left Congress in 1999 and joined BJP.
After this, Vyjayanthimala gradually distanced herself from politics.
