Nagaur/Ajmer A very shocking case has come to light from Nagaur district of Rajasthan. On the eve of Republic Day, security agencies have busted a major conspiracy or illegal business and recovered about 9,550 kg (10 tonnes) of explosive material. Considering the seriousness of the matter, teams of Central Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) have camped in Nagaur. Farm house became a heap of gunpowder: Police raided a farm house located in Harsaur village of Nagaur and recovered a huge quantity of ammonium nitrate. During the search, the officers were left in tears when explosive material was found there. These included 187 bags of ammonium nitrate (total weight 9,550 kg). 9 Carton Detonator. Consisted of 27 cartons and 20 bundles of fuse wire (red and blue light) etc. The accused’s health deteriorated before interrogation.
Police have arrested the main accused Suleman Khan (58) in this case. However, as soon as the central agencies arrived for questioning, the blood pressure (BP) of the accused suddenly increased. He was immediately taken to Thanwala Hospital, from where in view of his critical condition, he was referred to JLN Hospital in Ajmer. At present the accused is admitted in ICU amidst heavy police security.
Who is Suleman Khan?
Investigation has revealed that Suleman Khan used to work as a legal explosive magazine dealer, but after the license expired, he became an ‘illegal gunpowder king’. He used to supply explosives to the mining mafia in the dark of night.
Explosives Act cases are already registered against the accused in three different police stations.
Agencies suspect big conspiracy
Although Suleman’s main occupation is said to be supplying to the mining mafia, the receipt of such a huge consignment just before January 26 is being linked to a terrorist conspiracy. On the instructions of the Home Ministry, the NIA is now scanning the wires of this network to find out whether this gunpowder was to be used somewhere else.
