Bengaluru. Bengaluru Police has arrested a 29-year-old man for attacking a woman. It is alleged that the young man attacked the woman for refusing to enter into a relationship. At present, Bengaluru Police is busy in further action after the arrest of the accused. The accused has been identified as Naveen Kumar, 29, a resident of Yelahanka area of Bengaluru. Initial investigation has revealed that the accused and the victim had befriended each other on Instagram. However, a few days ago the victim blocked the mobile number and social media account of the accused. Police said that the youth was angry because his mobile number and social media account were blocked. He tried to talk to the woman near her PG. Meanwhile, a fight broke out between the two and he attacked the woman. This incident of assault happened on Monday afternoon at around 3 pm.
In a viral video, accused Naveen was seen arriving in a car. He was also seen attacking the woman. After the incident, he fled from the spot in the same vehicle.
In her complaint, the victim alleged that the youth assaulted her, dragged her on the road and pulled her clothes. The accused also tried to tear them during the attack. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). Police said that the accused was arrested within 24 hours of the complaint.
Police said the accused and the victim had come in contact through Instagram in 2024 and were in a relationship. During their relationship, Naveen allegedly pressurized the woman to continue the relationship. Police also said that there was a fight between the two over money matters.
According to the police, the accused was stalking the victim. He followed her wherever she went. He allegedly abused her using foul language, assaulted her and harassed her repeatedly.
