Doha, July 12 (). The increasing attacks between America and Iran have created a situation of tension in West Asia. In response to targeting 140 targets, Iran started air strikes on Gulf countries. In view of the current situation, Qatar has appealed to all ship owners to temporarily stop shipping and maritime activities until further orders.
Qatar’s Transport Ministry said that this step has been taken keeping in mind public safety. This includes all marine activities such as recreational boats, fishing vessels and jet skis. boat before
Qatar has strongly condemned the Iranian attacks, calling them a threat to regional security and international law. “The continuation of these aggressive actions reflects a dangerous situation that will complicate efforts to de-escalate tensions and undermine political and diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing security and stability in the region,” Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully legally responsible for these attacks and all consequences arising from them. Doha described the attacks as a “blatant violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity” and a “clear violation of international law.”
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the country has the right to retaliate, but called for a complete end to all military offensive actions in the region.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) says the threat to maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz remains at the highest level and has been rated “severe”.
“Despite Iran’s announcement on July 12, 2026, that Hormuz is closed, the southern route remains open and has now been expanded to two-way traffic,” the organization said.
