Hijab controversy is not over yet in Bihar. Female doctor Nusrat Parveen has not joined her job yet. The last date to join is 31st December. Civil Surgeon of Patna, Dr. Avinash Singh has clearly said that if Nusrat Parveen does not join till tomorrow, she will not be able to join later. The deadline will pass. She has not yet given any information about whether she will join the job or not. Meanwhile, protest by AYUSH doctors is going on in Gardanibagh, Patna. They are demanding their appointments. The protesting doctors said that Nusrat Parveen should join her job as soon as possible. A female doctor from the Muslim community who participated in the protest also spoke about the hijab controversy.
What did the protesting doctors say?
A large number of AYUSH doctors are protesting in Gardanibagh with banners and posters. They are raising slogans against Bihar government. They are demanding their appointments. Regarding Nusrat Parveen he said that she should join her job.
More than 1336 posts are still vacant – Doctor
The protesting AYUSH doctors say that this recruitment of AYUSH doctors has come after a long gap of almost 13 years, after September 2013. A total of 2619 posts were advertised in this recruitment, but after the current selection process, only 1283 candidates have been selected, while more than 1336 posts are still vacant. The cutoff fixed in recruitment is as per the government rules and court instructions, and we fully respect it. We are only requesting that such a large number of posts remaining vacant even after the cutoff is implemented is an extraordinary situation, which needs to be reconsidered.
Statewide agitation warning
AYUSH doctors are appointed in rural PHC, CHC and health centres. Due to vacant posts, rural and poor population are not getting primary care. The protesters said that their appointments should be made as soon as possible. Bihar is already facing shortage of doctors. The Supreme Court has also established the principle that advertised posts should not be left vacant, especially when the matter involves public interest and health services. If our demands are not met, there will be a statewide agitation in entire Bihar. Doctors involved in the protest said that among the 1283 selected candidates, a woman doctor Nusrat Parveen is also there. They should join the job. They should not be afraid. The opposition has presented the entire matter in a wrong manner. Nusrat Parveen and Nitish Kumar have a father-daughter like relationship. The protesting women doctors, especially women from the minority community, also insisted that Nusrat Parveen should join the job. She has reached this position through her hard work and dedication. Whatever has happened has happened, there is no use in thinking about it now.
