New Delhi. Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh held a meeting with Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Lieutenant General Edward Asryan in New Delhi on Tuesday. During this, discussions were held on increasing operational cooperation between the two countries, improving mutual coordination and strengthening relations related to air power. Indian Air Force’s Media Coordination Center said on social media platform ‘X’ that Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, who is on an official visit to India, met Air Chief Marshal AP Singh. The main focus of the talks was on defense cooperation, joint working and strengthening air force relations. Earlier in the day, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan also met Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and discussed the possibilities of joint projects (Joint Venture) in the development of defense equipment between the two countries.
Integrated Defense Staff told on ‘X’ that General Anil Chauhan talked to the Chief of General Staff of Armenia. He was also given a guard of honour. During the talks, emphasis was laid on the progress of India-Armenia defense relations and ways to enhance future cooperation were also discussed.
Earlier in February, an Indian defense delegation led by General Anil Chauhan had visited Armenia for four days. During this, he met Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and discussed new opportunities to strengthen defense and strategic cooperation.
Integrated Defense Staff had said that in this meeting, views on the changing global situation and security challenges were shared and it was agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries.
Apart from this, General Chouhan also met the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonian and discussed the security situation and bilateral issues.
He also held discussions with Armenia’s Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, with emphasis on further strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries.
General Chauhan also addressed the faculty and students at the National Defense Research University (NDRU). He talked about the global security situation, technological changes and major changes taking place in the defense sector.
