Jaipur, . Principal Secretary Medical and Health Gayatri Rathod said that under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana, the Claim Review Committee system has been made more effective for quick and transparent disposal of claims of government hospitals. The department has implemented the new system while working in mission mode. Under which the Claim Review Committee team itself is reaching the respective hospitals and hearing the claim cases. This has enabled quick disposal of long pending cases and the sanctioned amount is now available to the hospitals, which will be used in developing better health facilities for the patients. Gayatri Rathod said that under the Claim Review Committee system for quick and transparent disposal of claims, remarkable progress has been recorded in the hospitals affiliated with SMS Medical College, Jaipur. So far, 98 thousand 22 complaints have been received, out of which investigation in 70 thousand 610 cases (about 72 percent) has been completed and an amount of Rs 19.61 crore has been sanctioned in 26 thousand 698 eligible cases. Chief Executive Officer Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency Harjilal Atal said that if we look at the hospital-wise situation, maximum number of 74,524 complaints have been registered in SMS Hospital. Of these, investigation of 47,680 cases has been completed and an amount of Rs 14.48 crore has been sanctioned in 17,329 cases. He informed that 100% disposal of 4,229 appeals has been done in SSB Hospital and Rs. 91.53 lakh has been sanctioned in 1,694 cases. Similarly, an amount of Rs 1.51 crore has been sanctioned in 4,531 cases in JK Lone Hospital, Rs 1.50 crore in 1,431 cases in Zanana Hospital, and Rs 76.70 lakh has been sanctioned in 783 cases in SCI Hospital. The claim review committee process has been completed in these four hospitals. Whereas in Women’s Hospital, an amount of Rs 43.93 lakh has been approved in 930 cases.
Additional Chief Executive Officer Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency Nidhi Patel said that the analysis of the report shows that about 76 percent of the total appeals are on SMS Hospital alone, which is natural being the largest tertiary medical institution in the state. Despite this, a large number of claims have been settled and approval has been given in eligible cases. On the other hand, the Claim Review Committee process has been completed by settling all the pending claims in SSB, JK Lone, Zanana and SCI hospitals, which shows the success of this special campaign run in mission mode.
Patel said that the Medical and Health Department has given instructions for expeditious disposal of the remaining pending cases. The objective of the department is to ensure timely resolution of every eligible claim, to provide their due payment to government hospitals and to provide better and quality health facilities to the patients in the hospitals through the amount received.
It is noteworthy that earlier under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MA Yojana), many claims of government hospitals were rejected due to various reasons. In such cases, the concerned hospitals used to appeal before the State Level Claim Review Committee, the disposal of which sometimes took a year or more, but now the Claim Review Committee team itself reaches the concerned hospitals and hears the claim cases. Quick disposal of long pending cases has become possible.
