Under the campaign, 2 crore 32 lakh cattle of cow and buffalo origin will be vaccinated in the state.

Animal Husbandry, Cow Husbandry and Devsthan Minister Zoraram Kumawat said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the able leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is working dedicatedly towards the welfare of animals. Kumawat was speaking on Monday at the inauguration of the state level vaccination campaign to prevent FMD disease from Ramdev Gaushala in Bagru. The seventh phase of the comprehensive foot-and-mouth disease control vaccination program was inaugurated on Monday by Animal Husbandry Minister Zoraram Kumawat at Ramdev Gaushala in Bagru with the aim of protecting the cattle of cow and buffalo origin from foot-and-mouth (FMD) disease in the state. Under the programme, a target has been set to vaccinate 2 crore 32 lakh cattle of cow and buffalo origin in all the districts of the state.
On this occasion, the Animal Husbandry Minister said that livestock is an important basis of livelihood of farmers and animal husbandry in the state. Keeping livestock safe from infectious diseases like foot-and-mouth (FMD) is a priority for the government. For this purpose, foot-and-mouth disease control vaccination program is being conducted on a large scale in the state. He appealed and said that to keep the cattle safe from this disease, all the animals must be vaccinated. This will improve the health of animals and increase the income of animal farmers. He instructed the departmental officers and veterinarians to complete the vaccination work in a time bound manner. With this, the goal of making the state free from foot-and-mouth disease by the year 2030 can be achieved.
The Animal Husbandry Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the government has launched several schemes for the betterment of cows and cow sheds and has increased the grant amount to eligible cow sheds by 25 percent in the last two years. Similarly, efforts have also been made to strengthen the farmers and cattle herders economically.
On this occasion, Director Dr. Suresh Meena said that foot-and-mouth disease is a highly contagious disease, due to which the productivity of animals is affected and animal farmers have to suffer financial losses. Regular vaccination is very important to prevent this disease. Under the program, teams of the Animal Husbandry Department will go from village to village to vaccinate animals. For this, special vaccination camps will be organized and continuous monitoring will also be done. With this, more and more animals will be covered under this campaign.
During this, Kumawat worshiped the cows, fed them fodder and inspected the cow shed. He presented a vaccine carrier to the vaccination team. The team members vaccinated the cows on the spot.
