Jaipur. In the general body meeting of Rajasthan Protected Area Conservation Committee (RPACS) held at the Secretariat on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, important decisions were taken by discussing various issues related to wildlife conservation and management in the protected areas of the state. The annual budget and action plan of Rs 144.43 crore for the year 2026-27 was approved in the meeting. The Chief Secretary said that this amount will be used on activities like housing improvement, village rehabilitation, grassland development, water source development, conservation infrastructure, wildlife conservation, research, monitoring and human-wildlife conflict reduction. Reviewing the progress of the Annual Action Plan for the year 2025-26, the General Assembly expressed satisfaction over the expenditure of Rs 62.42 crore and approved the recommendations of the Executive Committee, the audited accounts and audit report of the financial year 2025-26.
The meeting also approved additional financial provisions for raptor conservation, year-round drinking water availability for wildlife, voluntary village rehabilitation and hunting base enhancement. It was also decided to include representatives of the Central Government and subject experts in the committee and organize a national level workshop in the year 2026.
