Atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh are condemnable, government should take strict action: Waris Pathan

Mumbai, January 1 (). Political rhetoric is intensifying in the country on the atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan on Thursday urged the Bangladesh government to take strict action.

Speaking to , AIMIM leader Waris Pathan said, “I strongly condemn the atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, including incidents of mob lynching and murders. No one has the right to take law into their hands or kill anyone in this manner. I urge the Bangladesh government to take note of these incidents and take strict action against the culprits.”

On Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) buying a Bangladeshi player, he said, “Shah Rukh Khan has a team named Kolkata Knight Riders. Over the years, he has selected the players, decided who to take and why, these are internal matters of the team, however the government should consider whether players from Bangladesh should be included. Earlier, the Indian government had given permission to play matches against Pakistan, while Pakistan-backed terrorists had earlier given permission to play matches against Pakistan in Pahalgam. Innocent civilians were attacked.”

On the recent statement of Maharashtra government minister Nitish Rane, Waris Pathan said, “Nitish Rane only has the habit of spreading hatred. He never talked about development or progress. I have named such people who spread hatred in BJP as ‘Hateful Chintu’. Now he has called Waris Pathan a scorpion. I want to ask, what color of scorpion is Nitish Rane? He is stinging without caring about the Constitution.”

Regarding campaigning in the Maharashtra exit elections, he said, “Things change, like the color of the sky changes. Till yesterday, some people used to hate the Urdu language. Today the candidates of Uddhav Thackeray’s party are promoting Urdu, distributing pamphlets in Urdu and using Urdu language.”
