Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday presented the state budget for the financial year 2026-27, which includes an expenditure of ₹2.23 lakh crore, 10.28 per cent more than last year’s revised estimate of ₹2.02 lakh crore. During the budget speech, CM Saini said that Haryana has set a big target of achieving $1 trillion economy by 2047. He said that for the first time in the history of the state, 98 percent of the total budget has been successfully utilized in the last financial year.
He said that from 2014 to 2024, the fiscal deficit has increased by 2.75 percent, which was 44 percent during the previous government. The Chief Minister claimed that the losses of government companies have also reduced three times. Seminars will be held at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and government work worth ₹4,000 crore will be carried out by them.
EWS flats will be built in these districts
In the budget, the Chief Minister announced construction of 8,000 EWS flats for poor families in Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Palwal, Panipat, Rohtak and Rewari. He said that under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana, 20, 5,000 plots of 50 and 100 square yards will be given to needy families in 5 mega villages and 157 small villages respectively.
High security jail will be built in Rohtak
Chief Minister Nayab Saini announced that new jails will be built in Fatehabad, Charkhi Dadri and Panchkula and a high security jail will also be built in Rohtak. He said that an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) will be formed under an officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP). One ATS police station will be built in Gurugram and the other in Panchkula. Announcement of 20% reservation for former fire warriors
The Chief Minister had announced in his budget speech that former fire warriors who returned from serving in the Indian Army will be given 20% reservation on various posts in Haryana Police. Apart from this, a special recruitment drive will be conducted next year to fill 1,300 posts of Fire Warriors in Haryana Police.
Wedding city projects announced
Chief Minister Saini announced the construction of Wedding City projects in Gurugram and Kharkhoda by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and Wedding City in Pinjore by the Tourism Department to promote hospitality and tourism infrastructure.
Saini announced that a talent search campaign will be launched under the Mission Olympics 2036 scheme. “Fit Haryana Campaign” to promote healthy lifestyle and fitness will start from September 30, 2026.
21 new sports stadiums will be built.
The Chief Minister announced that Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Daulatabad will be upgraded to become the first para-sports stadium in the state. 21 new sports stadiums will be built in Kaithal, Jhajjar, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, Jind, Rohtak, Faridabad, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Fatehabad and Palwal. A Khelo India Mini Center will be built in every district and its management will be handed over to an old champion athlete.
