Bharatpur/Rupwas. There was chaos at Mahadev Chowk in Rupwas town on Monday night when unknown miscreants tried to snatch a bag full of jewelery from a bullion trader. When protested, the miscreants opened fire, injuring a grocery businessman.
According to the information, bullion trader Dheeraj son of Ranjit Raghuvanshi, resident of Banke Bihari Colony, closed his shop on Monday night and was going home with a bag full of gold jewellery. Meanwhile, four miscreants riding on two bikes stopped Dheeraj on the way and tried to snatch his bag. When the businessman protested and threw the bag in a nearby shop, the miscreants opened fire. Instead of hitting Dheeraj, the bullet hit the neck of businessman Arun, son of Manoj Goyal, who was sitting at a nearby grocery shop.
As soon as the bullet was fired, there was a stampede in the market and the miscreants fled from the spot. As soon as the information was received, Rupwas police station reached the spot and blocked the entire area, however, the police did not get any success till late night.
Injured businessman Arun Goyal has been referred to Bharatpur District Hospital after first aid at Rupwas Hospital.
