New Delhi, March 4 (). Bhutan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel reached New Delhi on Wednesday, where he will participate in the 11th Raisina Dialogue.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal welcomed him in a post on social media platform ‘X’ and said that India-Bhutan partnership is based on deep trust and goodwill and this visit will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
Raisina Dialogue will be held in New Delhi from 5 to 7 March. It is India’s premier geopolitics and geoeconomy conference, organized every year since 2016. It is organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs. Leaders, policy-makers, experts and journalists from all over the world participate in this conference.
Earlier on February 18, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met during the India-AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi. The two leaders reviewed the progress of cooperation in areas such as energy, connectivity, development partnership and people-to-people ties.
Both the countries agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technology and reiterated their resolve to further strengthen the India-Bhutan partnership based on trust, goodwill and mutual respect.
India and Bhutan have a tradition of regular high-level visits and both countries are pursuing deeper ties in areas such as energy, infrastructure and cultural exchanges.
Last November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Thimphu on a two-day visit aimed at deepening India-Bhutan relations and strengthening India’s commitment to its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.
