New Delhi, March 8 (). As part of the campaign against illegal liquor in the Eastern District, Delhi Police has taken major action and arrested two liquor smugglers. 199 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.
This action was taken by Patparganj Industrial Area police station. Police said that a special operation is being conducted by the East District Police to stop illegal activities. Under this, the team of Police Station Pandav Nagar Industrial Area consisting of ASI Qasim, Head Constable Sachin Kumar and Constable Dinesh were patrolling and monitoring the area.
At around 5 am on March 7, 2026, the police team reached ISBT Anand Vihar. Here two persons were found standing under suspicious circumstances with seven pittu bags and four trolley bags. On suspicion, the police stopped both of them and interrogated them, but they could not give satisfactory answers about the items kept in the bag.
On searching the bag, 199 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered. After this, both the accused were arrested on the spot. During interrogation they were identified as Suraj and Sunil.
Accused Suraj is a resident of East Champaran (Motihari), Bihar, while Sunil is a resident of Raxaul area of Bihar.
Police said that in this case an FIR has been registered in Patparganj Industrial Area police station and both the accused have been arrested. This case has been registered under Section 33 of Delhi Excise Act, 2009.
Police are now trying to find out from where the illegal liquor was brought and in which areas it was to be supplied. According to officials, investigation into the case is ongoing and other people associated with this network are also being searched.
