Acting by Kota ACB Special Unit on the instructions of ACB Headquarters, Jaipur, accused broker Akram Hussain has been arrested red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 20,000 in Indian currency and dummy notes for Central Narcotics Bureau Inspector Bhawanimandi Hitesh Kumar. Anti-Corruption Bureau Director General Govind Gupta said that the complainant presented a written complaint to the Kota Special Unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau to the effect that the complainant’s father was taken away from the complainant’s house by Inspector Hitesh Kumar of the Central Narcotics Bureau, Bhawanimandi and another person, who were demanding a bribe amount of Rs 3 lakh by threatening to implicate the complainant’s father in a false case. On which the complaint was verified by Mukul Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police of ACB Special Unit, under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General Anand Sharma, in-charge of ACB Range Kota. The demand of Rs 3 lakh by broker Akram Hussain from the complainant was found to be justified. Later, a verification trap operation was organised, during the trap operation, the accused broker Akram Hussain was arrested red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 in Indian currency and dummy notes for Inspector Hitesh Kumar of Central Narcotics Bureau, Bhawanimandi. Accused Hitesh Kumar fled from the spot taking advantage of darkness and the search is on.
Smita Srivastava Very. Interrogation and action against the accused is going on under the direction of Director General of Police, Anti Corruption Bureau Rajasthan Jaipur. ACB will register a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 (as amended in 2018) and conduct further investigation.
