Jaipur. A major step has been taken towards strengthening the expressway and road infrastructure in Rajasthan. Deputy Chief Minister and Chairperson of Rajasthan State Road Development and Construction Corporation (RSRDC) Diya Kumari chaired the 131st board meeting of RSRDC on Sunday. In this meeting, financial approval was given to a loan proposal of Rs 4 thousand 938 crore to speed up the work of land acquisition in the ambitious expressway projects of the state. The Deputy Chief Minister has given this approval mainly with the aim of timely completion of the construction works of Kotputli-Kishangarh and Beawar-Bharatpur Expressway projects.
Budget worth crores also approved for widening and repairing roads
Apart from the expressway, important announcements were also made for other major road projects of the state in this high level meeting held in the RSRDC auditorium:
The road will become 4 lanes from 2 lanes: A loan proposal of Rs 460 crore has been approved for the upgradation of Nasirabad-Sarwad-Kekdi-Deoli road (SH-26), construction of Kekdi bypass and converting this route from 2 lanes to 4 lanes.
Increase in repair budget: The proposal to increase the previously fixed loan amount for the repair of Gotan-Bilara-Pundal road from Rs 17 crore to Rs 27.87 crore has also been given the green signal.
Balance sheet approved: The balance sheet for the financial year 2024-25 was finalized during the meeting. With this, a total of 33 regular and 2 additional proposals were approved.
“Officials should give priority to utility in construction works”
Deputy Chief Minister’s instructions: Addressing the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari gave clear instructions to the officials that in the construction of road projects, there should not be mere formality, but ‘public utility’ should be kept at the top. He said that the road network should be developed in such a way that it can prove to be more and more comfortable, beneficial and useful for the general public.

In this important board meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Public Works Department Praveen Gupta, Principal Secretary of Transport Department Bhawani Singh Detha, Government Secretary of Finance Department Tina Soni, Government Secretary of Public Works Department D.R. Meghwal, CE (Building) Satyendra Singh, RSRDC Managing Director Sunil Jaisingh along with Company Secretary and other senior officers were present.
