In the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that after the alleged exploitation of the victim, the help of some local doctors was taken for her abortion. According to sources, suspicion has also been expressed on a doctor associated with Nashik Municipal Corporation in this context, which has created a stir in the medical field. However, these allegations can be officially confirmed only after the investigation is completed.
According to the investigating agencies, accused Ashok Kharat used to take women under his influence by claiming himself to be endowed with ‘divine power’ and promising to solve their personal and family problems. During this period, alleged sexual exploitation of many women has come to light.
During the SIT investigation, the police have got important clues after a case related to the abortion of a victim woman came to light. Investigation has also revealed that the accused is suspected to be in contact with some doctors and sonography centres. It is alleged that abortion pills were made available to women in case they became pregnant. How these medicines were supplied is also being thoroughly investigated.
Also, it is also a matter of investigation whether some private sonography centers tried to destroy evidence during the investigation. The police is busy connecting the links of this entire network and the possibility of more big revelations is being expressed in the coming days.
In another development related to this case, a case has also been registered against the accused’s wife Kalpana Kharat at Shirdi police station. He is accused of atrocities against women and fraud related to a farmer’s land. It is being told that Kalpana Kharat is currently absconding. He had applied for anticipatory bail in the Rahata Court, but after a hearing that lasted for about one and a half hours on Wednesday, the court rejected his anticipatory bail application.
