MD, chemicals and equipment worth more than Rs 2 crore seized
Barmer. To realize the Chief Minister’s resolution of drug-free Rajasthan and under the drug-free Barmer campaign being run as per the instructions of Police Headquarters and Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur Range, Barmer Police has taken another major action and exposed an illegal MD drugs manufacturing factory operating in village Gauda of police station Sedwa area. In the action, MD drugs, chemicals, powders, construction equipment worth about Rs 2 crore 2 lakh and Rs 24 lakh 9 thousand 500 in cash have been recovered. District Superintendent of Police Chunaram Jat said that the team formed under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Nitesh Arya and Senior Officer Chauhtan Jetharam and under the leadership of Police Station Officer Sedwa Prabhuram took this action.
He said that this is the fourth illegal factory of MD drugs that has been caught in the last one year in Police Station Sedwa area, which is a proof of the continuous effective action of the police against the drug network in the district.
Raid on information, complete drugs setup found in store room
On Friday, July 17, Intelligence Officer Constable Mohanlal got information that Mukesh Kumar, son of Birbalram, resident of village Gowda, was preparing illegal MD drugs in the store room of the teen shed behind his house. Considering the seriousness of the information, a special police team was immediately formed and raided the spot.
During the search, the police team saw that there was a complete laboratory for making MD drugs in the store room. Police have recovered 1 kg 3 grams of MD drugs, 77.176 liters of chemical, 26 kg 673 grams of white powder and ₹ 24,09,500 in cash, machines, equipment, chemicals and other materials used in MD manufacturing from the spot.
The estimated value of the recovered drugs and other material has been estimated to be around Rs 2 crore 2 lakh.
Anju, wife of Mukesh Kumar, resident of Gowda, who was present at the spot, has been arrested, while special teams have been formed to arrest the main accused Mukesh Kumar, son of Birbalram, and possible locations are being raided continuously. In this regard, a case has been registered at Sedwa police station and detailed research is being done.
‘You put it, we put it’ – continuous attack on smugglers’ network.
SP Chunaram Jat said that under the “Drug Free Barmer” campaign, the police is continuously taking action to completely destroy the local network of drug smugglers. There will be no laxity at any level against those who push the youth into the quagmire of drugs.
He also appealed to the general public to give any information related to smuggling or manufacturing of illegal drugs to the police. The identity of the person giving information will be kept completely confidential.

In this action, the police team including Station Officer Prabhuram, ASI Babulal, Constable Mohanlal (Intelligence Officer), Bhojaram, Gangaram, Dinesh Kumar, Kaluram, Ramchandra, Lady Constable Urma, Head Constable Kamla, Lady Constable Sohni and Driver Constable Ambaram played a special role.
