A police officer said that Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat had received secret information that a large number of weapons were hidden in a house in Radhiya village of Govindganj police station area. Based on this information, a special team was formed under the leadership of Cyber DSP, Areraj DSP and Chakia DSP. After this, a raid was conducted at Upendra Singh’s house in Radhiya village with more than 200 police forces. Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat said on Saturday that during the four-hour long search operation, the police found one carbine, one rifle, three pistols, one country-made pistol, more than a hundred bullets, more than Rs 2 lakh in cash and several liquor bottles.
He told that the police has arrested Upendra Singh and his wife and started interrogation. SP said that shocking revelations have been made during the interrogation. Upendra had been working as a painter in Kashmir for the last 20 years and had returned home only a week ago.
The Superintendent of Police said that the police is trying to find out what was the purpose of keeping the weapons? It is expected that other people associated with this gang will also be identified and arrested soon.
Here, on the basis of secret information under Chhauradano police station of Motihari, a Hundi businessman Sanjay Kumar has also been arrested, from whose house a large amount of Indian and Nepali currency has been recovered.
According to the police, about 2.79 lakh Indian currency and 2.84 lakh Nepali rupees have been recovered from here. The police is investigating the entire matter.
