Patna. With Bihar Assembly elections just a few days away, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar intensified his campaign on Saturday by addressing a huge public meeting at Raj High School ground in Dumraon in Buxar district.
Highlighting the achievements of his government in the last two decades, Nitish Kumar urged voters to ensure a massive victory for NDA-backed candidates in all four assembly constituencies in the district. The Chief Minister reminded the gathering of the chaos and anarchy prevailing in Bihar before 2005 and compared it with the era of development, stability and good governance under his leadership.
Nitish Kumar said that before 2005, Bihar was known for mismanagement and anarchy. We have completely changed that image of the state. Our focus has been on education, healthcare and women empowerment.
Listing major achievements, he said his government established polytechnic and engineering colleges, improved school and health infrastructure, and built an extensive network of roads, reducing the travel time from Dumraon to Patna from six hours to just one and a half hours.
He further claimed that 40 lakh youth have been provided employment opportunities, while 1.21 crore women have received financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for self-employment.
He said that we have given 35 percent reservation for women in government jobs in Bihar, increased the honorarium of teachers, cooks, Anganwadi workers and helpers etc. We have also increased the social security pension for widows, old people and the disabled. Our target for the next five years is to create employment for one crore youth.
Nitish Kumar also said that his government has firmly established the rule of law in Bihar.
He said that today there is peace and order in the state. We will continue to work for the welfare and prosperity of every section of the society.
