Bihar Elections: Names of BJP candidates approved, first list to be released today

Patna, October 13 (). The meeting of the Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Bihar Assembly elections has concluded, in which the names of most of the party’s candidates have been finalized. According to sources, there will be no further meeting of the Central Election Committee.

During the meeting, it was decided that the sitting MLAs facing public dissatisfaction may not be given tickets, and this time many young faces may be given a chance.

The first list of BJP candidates is expected to be released on Monday. Sources say that the NDA alliance is united and all the allies are satisfied with the seat distribution. According to reports, Jitan Ram Manjhi is satisfied with the deal – his son has been given an important portfolio in the Bihar government, while Manjhi is a minister at the Centre. Similarly, despite the previous election defeat, Upendra Kushwaha is a Rajya Sabha member and continues to get political support from the NDA.

In contrast, the Grand Alliance is battling internal strife, which has now become publicly evident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Sudha Yadav, Vinod Tawde, BS Yediyurappa, Dinesh Jaiswal, Laxman, Nityanand Rai, CR Patil, Dharmendra Pradhan and Iqbal Singh Lalpura attended the Central Election Committee meeting.

Sources further said that NDA’s campaign strategy, public relations plans and upcoming rallies of Prime Minister Modi in Bihar were also discussed in the meeting.

Bihar election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan announced NDA’s seat distribution on social media on Sunday. Under this agreement, both BJP and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) will contest 101 seats each, while Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been given 29 seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) will contest on six seats each.
