Sarhasa . The pink bus service started by Bihar State Road Transport Corporation in Saharsa district is getting positive support from women. After the commencement of the bus service, women passengers expressed their gratitude to the state government and said that this will not only make their journey safer but will also provide a lot of convenience in their daily commuting. At present, one pink bus has been provided to Saharsa district. This bus is being operated from Saharsa to Moradpur via Rahua, Bada and Navhatta. The bus leaves Saharsa daily at 8:30 am and returns back to Saharsa from Navhatta at around 4 pm. There is a total arrangement of 24 seats in this bus. Keeping in mind the convenience of women, a female conductor has been deployed in the bus. Women say that if the number of such pink buses is increased in future and their operation is started on other major routes also, then thousands of women of the district will get direct benefits from it and their participation in public transport will also increase.
Speaking to news agency , government teacher Bhavana said, “The Pink Bus service launched by the state government is a very good initiative for women. Working women always have time constraints, and this service will help them travel safely and reach their destination on time. We thank the state government for this initiative.”
Anita, another teacher, said, “First of all, I thank the government for starting the Pink Bus service. It is a very good initiative for women. The service is safe and since the conductor is also a woman, women passengers feel even more safe during the journey.”
Anita told that earlier she had to take the help of tempo and normal buses to go to school every day. They had to face many problems due to overcrowding and inconvenience. He said that after the launch of Pink Bus service, women passengers are now getting a more safe, comfortable and respectful environment. This will provide special benefits to working women, girl students and other women passengers.
Female conductor of the bus, Pooja Jaiswal said that the state government has started the Pink Bus service especially with the aim of ensuring safe travel of women. He said that only women passengers are being provided travel facilities in this bus, so that women can travel without any hesitation and fear.
