Chandigarh. Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers in Punjab have shown unmatched vigilance and prompt action on the India-Pakistan border. BSF foiled several attempts of smuggling from across the border. BSF troops displayed unmatched alertness and prompt action and foiled several cross-border smuggling attempts along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab. Acting on precise intelligence, troops recovered drones, heroin (over 3.8 kg), and ammunition from areas around Amritsar and Ferozepur. The seizures included a DJI Mavic 3 drone and heroin packets from Dhanoi Kalan, Raniyaan, Daoke, and Habib Wala villages. These consecutive seizures reflect BSF’s vigilance, coordination and unwavering commitment towards the security of the country’s borders. BSF stands as a strong shield against threats coming from across the border. Earlier, SAS Nagar Police of Punjab achieved a major success by busting an illegal arms smuggling gang and arrested four accused. The accused used to supply weapons to many states.
Punjab Police said on its official ‘X’ handle that the arrested accused include Danveer, Bunty, Sikandar Shaikh and Krishna Kumar alias Happy Gujjar. Five pistols, two vehicles and Rs 2 lakh in cash were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the main accused Danveer is an associate of Papala Gujjar gang active in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. He along with Bunty had come to supply weapons to Happy Gujjar and Sikandar Shaikh. An FIR in this matter has been registered in Police Station Sadar Kharar.
Police said that further investigation is going on, so that other members of this gang and its network can be exposed. Punjab Police continues to take strict action against organized criminal gangs to ensure the safety of citizens. According to the police officer, smuggling of arms from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh into Punjab remains a major challenge. The police is now busy dismantling the network with the help of digital transactions, phone call records and informers. –
