In compliance with the orders of Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur, Rajasthan Housing Board took a big and decisive action on Friday and freed 42 Bigha 10 Biswa valuable unoccupied land of Krishna Kunj, B-2 Bypass, Village Chainpura and Durgapura located at Tonk Road and regained possession of it.
During this comprehensive action taken under the leadership of Divisional Secretary Gopal Singh Shekhawat with the help of police administration, illegal encroachments were removed from the spot and property boards of Rajasthan Housing Board were established on the land. Shekhawat told that a total of 42 Bigha and 10 Biswa land of Khasra No. 7, 15 to 24, 26 to 31 located in village Chainpura and Khasra No. 265 to 270 located in Durgapura is the unclaimed property of Rajasthan Housing Board.
Non-acquisition notification of this land was issued on 10 January 1990 and the Board duly obtained possession on 5 December 1991 after the award was issued by the Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Rajasthan. Despite this, the land was sold to Jawahar Grih Nirman Cooperative Society by the account holders allegedly through illegal agreements. Later illegal leases were issued by the committee in the name of Shri Ram Colony.
In the case, the single bench of the High Court, while accepting the writ petition number 15576/2019 of Rajasthan Housing Board on 9 April 2026, rejected the petitions of Shri Ram Colony and other parties and declared the agreements made by the society void. A preliminary stay order was passed in the appeals filed against it, which was later released by the Division Bench of the High Court to remove the encroachment in view of the order passed on 18 May 2026. After this, the Board took immediate action and freed the land from encroachment.
On this occasion, Chief Engineer Amit Aggarwal, Chief Estate Manager Ashok Kumar, all Deputy Housing Commissioners, Residential Engineers, Senior Law Officers, Rajasthan Housing Board Employees Union President Gohan Singh, General Secretary Ramesh Sharma, Senior Vice President Govind Natani along with officers and employees of Jaipur based offices were present.
