Bhopal, 5 October (). The Health Department has taken major action in the case of death of 10 children due to consumption of Kapha syrup in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. In this case, Praveen Soni, who practiced in a private clinic while being a government doctor, has been suspended. The Public Health and Medical Education Commissioner issued an order in this regard on Sunday.
According to the Health Department, Dr. Praveen Soni presented such medicines to infants who came for treatment during private practice, after which children had high fever and difficulty in urination. The children died later due to kidney failure.
The departmental investigation has revealed the fact that the doctor wrote a form of medicines without properly examining the infants, which deteriorated the condition of the children and proved to be a fatal lapse. Departmental investigation revealed that if proper medical treatment was given in time, the lives of these children could be saved.
The Health Department has taken disciplinary action against Dr. Soni, considering this entire episode as serious negligence. He has been convicted under Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966. According to the order, Dr. Soni will be eligible for life -long allowance as per rules during the suspension period.
However, in this case, the police took action on their behalf and took the accused doctor into custody. An FIR has been lodged against Cuff Syrup -making company and doctor Praveen Soni in three serious sections at Parasia police station.
Chhindwara SP Ajay Pandey said, “There have been reports of children’s deaths in Parasia area of Chhindwara district for the last few days. Further legal action is going on in relation to the details. “
