Jaipur. A three -day dance competition jointly organized by the Department of Art and Culture, Jawahar Kala Kendra and Jaipur Kathak Center, the grand completion of 2025 was held at Rangayan and Krishnayan Auditorium of Jawahar Kala Kendra. On the second day of the competition, artists performed their talent in dance genres held in various categories. The objective of the event was to provide a national platform to the emerging artists and promote Indian dance styles. In this year’s competition, about 140 students from various districts of Rajasthan including Tonk, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota participated. The contestants were divided into senior and junior two classes, so that they could be evaluated according to their age and experience.
The artists performed their presentations in classical and traditional styles such as Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Manipuri and Lok Dance, which mesmerized the audience. At the closing ceremony, the Chairman of the Finance Commission, Arun Chaturvedi was present as the chief guest. He appreciated the dedication and talent of young artists in his address and highlighted the importance of art and culture.
Chaturvedi honored all the winning participants by awarding them and wished them a bright future. He said that such events not only encourage artists, but also keep our rich cultural heritage alive.
Secretary of Jaipur Kathak Center, Shruti Mishra said that the competition was evaluated by a prestigious jury. The mandal consisted of experienced dance experts like Sangeeta Mittal, Namita Jain, Manaswini Sharma and Radhika. The jury tested the participants’ technology, emotion, rhythm and presentation.
Mishra said that many of the students participating in this competition performed for the first time on a big stage, which made the event even more special. He talked about continuing such programs in future so that young talents continue to get opportunities. This competition was not just a competition, but it was a celebration of art, culture and creativity, which showed the cultural diversity of Rajasthan.
