New Delhi, May 17 (). Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the India-Netherlands CEO Roundtable in The Hague, the capital of the Netherlands. In this meeting, there was a detailed discussion on increasing cooperation between the two countries in areas like economic partnership, investment, semiconductor, shipping, logistics, green energy and high-end manufacturing. At the roundtable, CEOs of leading companies from the Netherlands appreciated the changes that have taken place in India in the last 10-12 years and praised the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Royal Vopak CEO Dick Richel said his company has a long-standing presence in India through its joint venture with Aegis Logistics. Appreciating the changes in India, he expressed hope of increasing further investment in the future.
VNO SCW President Koen van Oostrom praised the strong leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that PM Modi understands Dutch companies and is keen to increase investment in India through global partnerships.
Keith Svendsen, CEO of APM Terminals, said, “It is good to hear about India’s ambition and economic progress. The trade agreement with the EU will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. We are making solid progress in areas such as transportation, shipbuilding, container production and training of youth.”
After signing the strategic partnership with Tata Electronics, Christophe Fouquet said, “This is the result of Prime Minister Modi’s ambition to establish the semiconductor industry. This industry is very important for self-reliance and prosperity in India.”
Praising Prime Minister Modi’s energy and determination, Baudewijn Simons CEO said, “I completely agree with what he said that the best times are yet to come. We have huge opportunities based on the EU-India trade agreement and the special relationship with the Netherlands.”
The CEO of Rotterdam Port said ships are not built to stay safely in port, they are built to trade. He welcomed the investment in new infrastructure in India.
Prime Minister Modi said in the meeting that the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will provide new impetus to trade, technology and people-to-people ties between India and the Netherlands. He laid special emphasis on enhancing cooperation in areas like semiconductor, maritime sector, water management, agritech, high-end manufacturing and advanced logistics.
While sharing the photo of the meeting on social media platform ‘X’, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote, “Doors of new opportunities are opening. Prime Minister Modi held detailed discussions with CEOs of major Dutch companies in various sectors including energy, sustainability and technology.”
