Indonesia. In the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the courtyard of Prambanan Temple resonated with the mantra of ‘Om Namah Shivay’. Divine chants of ‘Om Namah Shivay’ echoed in the 9th century Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. PM Modi shared a 28-second video clip on social media platform X and wrote, “Om Namah Shivay at Prambanan Temple in Indonesia!” In this clip, a large number of devotees can be heard sitting on the ground in the premises, with their eyes closed, hands folded and chanting divine mantras. The sound of the bell can also be heard. PM Modi is also standing with folded hands in saffron colored clothes.
On the third and last day of his three-day visit to Indonesia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reached Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta.
During this, both the leaders visited the temple complex and Prime Minister Modi took information about the history and importance of the temple. After this the PM offered prayers in the temple. The priests of the temple performed the puja as per the rituals and blessed them.
Before reaching the temple, Prime Minister Modi shared a video of Prambanan Temple on social media platform ‘X’ and wrote, “Majestic Prambanan Temple!”
The Prime Minister also shared a photo of himself with President Prabowo Subianto and wrote, “Visit Prambanan Temple from Yogyakarta with President Prabowo Subianto.”
Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the Indonesian Parliament on Tuesday, had said that he would visit Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta with President Prabowo Subianto. It is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
During the visit, the two leaders jointly inaugurated the conservation and restoration project of Prambanan Temple. It is being considered a symbol of the commitment of both the countries towards preserving the shared cultural heritage.
