Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) scheme, started on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, is proving to be life-saving for serious patients struggling between life and death. This scheme has given new life to thousands of patients who had given up hope of life due to fatal diseases like cancer, heart, kidney or other serious diseases. In the last one and a half year itself, this scheme has given the blessing of life to about 2.5 lakh serious patients by providing cashless treatment worth Rs 1900 crore. Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said that there were many flaws in the health insurance scheme run by the previous government. Due to this, serious patients could not get complete treatment on time. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma understood the plight of poor and needy patients and started Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Yojana from February 19, 2024 for easy and accessible cashless treatment in place of the earlier scheme. With the increase in the number of packages and various improvements, this scheme became a lifeline for serious patients.
Scope of scheme increased, treatment became easier
Principal Secretary of Medical and Health Department, Gayatri Rathore said that first of all, 73 new day care packages for cancer were added to the scheme. After this, other packages including geriatric care package, package for psychological health of adolescents, oral cancer, new packages for specially abled people, robotic surgery, neuro surgery, plastic surgery and skin transplant, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and AYUSH were included in it in a phased manner and as against 1800 packages in the previous scheme, there are about 2200 packages in it. Went. By increasing the scope of the scheme, it became easier for serious patients to get treatment and it became possible to save lives.
Serious patients got cashless treatment worth Rs 2 thousand crores
Chief Executive Officer of Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, Harjilal Atal said that in the last one and a half year alone, cashless treatment worth Rs 1900 crore has been provided to about 2.5 lakh serious patients under this scheme. These include 1 lakh 23 thousand patients of heart disease, 96 thousand of cancer, 20 thousand of dialysis, 6700 of diabetes, 452 of cochlear implant, 300 of bone marrow transplant, 760 of kidney transplant and 77 of liver transplant. Cashless treatment has been provided to cancer patients at a cost of about Rs 800 crore, to heart patients at about Rs 850 crore and to dialysis patients at a cost of about Rs 200 crore.
Rs 6 thousand crores spent so far
Currently 1 crore 34 lakh families are registered under the scheme. The state government has added 132 new packages to the scheme announced in the budget for the financial year 2025-26. Under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana, from 19 February 2024 to 03 October 2025, more than 50 lakh patients have received cashless treatment worth about Rs 6 thousand crores.
Organ transplant facility available in other states too, air tickets free
Under the scheme, free organ transplant treatment is available in the state, whereas in other states, on organ transplant, the expenses are reimbursed up to the limit of the package and the air travel ticket for the patient and one family member is also reimbursed. Under the scheme, eligible patients from outside the state are also being treated in the state and action is underway on outbound portability to provide treatment in other states.
