Imphal. With an aim to promote peace, harmony and a better future for the youth in Manipur, Assam Rifles has intensified community outreach operations in various areas of the state. Officials said on Friday that several awareness and inspirational programs were organized by Assam Rifles on Thursday and Friday, aimed at motivating the youth towards education, discipline, sports and positive lifestyle. According to the Defense spokesperson, through these programs an attempt was made to strengthen trust and mutual cooperation between the security forces and the local people.
On Thursday, Assam Rifles organized a special outreach program in Thanlon village of Pherjawal district. This village is situated in a hilly area, about 130 kilometers away from Churachandpur district headquarters. About 200 local people, students and youth participated in the program with enthusiasm.
During this, senior officers of Assam Rifles met village elders and community leaders and discussed issues related to regional development, education and the future of the youth. An inspirational session was also organized for the students, in which they were motivated to work hard, discipline and contribute positively towards society and nation building.
An exhibition football match between boys and girls was also organized to promote sportsmanship, teamwork and unity among the youth. Local people appreciated this initiative of Assam Rifles and said that such programs strengthen their sense of security and confidence.
Taking this campaign forward on Friday, an interactive program was organized for about 200 students of Hill Academy located in Fabem village of Churachandpur district. Military equipment and weapons were displayed in the program, seeing which a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity was seen among the students. This gave him an opportunity to closely understand the working of the security forces.
After this, the inspirational film ‘Ikkis’ was shown to the students, the objective of which was to develop the spirit of patriotism, courage, discipline and dedication in them. Assam Rifles also made special transport arrangements to ensure safe movement of students, which further strengthened the confidence among the local people.
In this series, a yoga session was also organized for 75 students at Assam Rifles Public School, New Keithelmanby. In this program organized as part of the preparations for the 12th International Yoga Day, trained yoga teachers gave information about yoga asana, pranayam and meditation to the students.
Assam Rifles said that through such efforts, peace, brotherhood and mutual trust are being further strengthened in Manipur along with inspiring the youth.
