Chandigarh. Newly appointed in-charge of Haryana Congress Sanjay Dutt made his first visit to Haryana after his appointment. On this occasion, a huge general meeting of Congress officials and workers from all over the state was organized at Haryana Congress Headquarters. The objective of the meeting was to strengthen the organization up to the booth level, prepare a comprehensive strategy on upcoming political challenges and make the role of Congress more effective on issues of public interest. During the meeting, in-charge Sanjay Dutt first had a detailed discussion with the MPs of Haryana. After this, he held a separate meeting with Congress MLAs and discussed in detail about organizational issues, political situations and upcoming programs and gave necessary guidelines. Later, while addressing the workers from across the state, he called for strengthening the organization. In his address, Sanjay Dutt said that the biggest strength of Congress is its dedicated and struggling workers. He said that every worker should take a pledge to strengthen the organization till village, ward and booth level and work actively among the public. He said that today the people of the state want change and Congress is the only political party which can live up to the expectations and aspirations of the people.
Expressing serious concern over the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR), he said that common citizens are being unnecessarily harassed in the name of the process of revision of voter list. He alleged that the purpose of this process appears to be to deprive eligible voters of their constitutional franchise. He said that Congress stands with full commitment to protect the voting rights of every citizen and will oppose in a democratic and constitutional manner every effort to weaken democratic values.
Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narendra Singh said that the real strength of any political organization lies in its dedicated workers. He called upon the workers to remain active among the people and raise their problems prominently and take the ideology and public welfare policies of the Congress to every home. He expressed confidence that only a strong organization will become the basis of positive political change in Haryana.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that the people of the state are facing serious challenges like inflation, unemployment, farmers’ problems and law and order. He said that Congress is continuously fighting on all these issues of public interest and the workers should become the voice of the people and carry forward the fight for their rights more strongly. He expressed confidence that public trust is continuously increasing towards Congress.
MP Kumari Shailja said that protecting the Constitution and democratic institutions is the biggest need of the hour. He said that Congress is fully committed to social justice, equal opportunity and protecting the constitutional rights of every citizen. He especially emphasized on connecting women, youth and deprived sections of the society with the organization.
Senior Congress leader and MP Randeep Singh Surjewala said that Congress’s politics is based on the principles of public trust, public participation and public interest. He urged the workers to go among the public and highlight the reality of the government’s policies and take the positive thinking and public welfare approach of Congress to every household. He said that Congress’s struggle to protect democracy and the Constitution will continue.
MP Deependra Singh Hooda said that the energy of the youth, dedication of the workers and unity of the organization are the biggest assets of the Congress. He called upon the workers to strengthen the organization in their respective areas, connect new people to the party and play an active role in solving public problems. He said that Congress is continuously moving ahead as a strong and credible alternative in Haryana on the strength of public trust.
At the end of the meeting, all the senior leaders called upon the workers to unite and take a pledge to strengthen the organization up to the booth level, protect democratic values and continuously fight for the interests of the people of the state and the country.
