New Delhi, June 21 (). BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh reacted to the social media debate between Congress leaders Pawan Kheda and Shashi Tharoor over the India-European Union (EU) trade agreement, the controversy over political slogans in Karnataka Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on Congress and the PM Modi-Trump meeting.
He said the India-EU trade agreement is the country’s biggest trade deal so far, while accusing the Congress of always playing politics of keeping power in the hands of one family.
On the trade agreement between India and the European Union, Gaurav Vallabh said that this is the biggest deal among all the trade deals so far. He claimed that India had never done such a big trade deal before. According to him, this agreement will impact approximately 200 crore population of the world and India and the European Union will have influence on about 25 percent of the global GDP. He said that the size of the combined economy of India and EU is about $27 trillion. This agreement will greatly benefit many major sectors of India like Gems and Jewellery, Chemical, Engineering and Heavy Engineering. Also, India’s huge consumer market of 140 crore people will open up for European companies.
Taking aim at the Congress-led UPA government, Vallabh said that this agreement should have been made during its tenure, but at that time it was not possible due to the culture of delaying, deviating and stalling. He said that the present government has finalized this agreement and the Indian economy will start getting its direct benefits from next year. Along with this, new employment opportunities will also be created in the country.
On the controversy within the Congress organization over political slogans raised in support of the Chief Minister in Karnataka, the BJP spokesperson said that this highlights the internal conflict and power struggle of the Congress. He sarcastically said that can anyone imagine that the president of a political party would get angry over the slogans being raised in support of his own Chief Minister. According to him, this is happening because the Speaker himself wishes to become the Chief Minister.
Gaurav Vallabh satirized the internal structure of Congress and said that today Congress has three holding companies and one subsidiary company. He said that the first holding company is ‘Congress M’ i.e. ‘Congress Mummy’, the second is ‘Congress P’ i.e. ‘Congress Priyanka’ and the third is ‘Congress R’ i.e. ‘Congress Rahul’, while the subsidiary of all three is ‘Congress K’ i.e. ‘Congress Kharge’. He said that it is surprising that the party president reacts to the slogans being raised against his own Chief Minister and warns the workers of disciplinary action. According to him, this is a clear indication of the ongoing conflict over leadership within the Congress.
Supporting the allegations leveled on Congress by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gaurav Vallabh said that the agenda of Congress has never been united India. He said that if Congress had such thinking then it would not have agreed to the decisions in situations like partition of the country. The BJP leader said that the Prime Minister has rightly said that the main objective of the Congress has been to maintain power only in the hands of the Nehru-Gandhi family. He alleged that Congress is not particularly concerned with India’s culture, civilization, thinking and common people, rather its priority is only to keep the keys of power with the family.
Gaurav Vallabh said that history is witness to the fact that Congress continuously marginalized many of its own capable leaders. According to him, the Congress Party was used only as a political tool, the purpose of which was to secure the power of the family.
Responding to the debate on social media between Congress leaders Pawan Kheda and Shashi Tharoor regarding the meeting between PM Modi and Trump, Gaurav Vallabh said that Pawan Kheda is raising questions on an experienced leader like Shashi Tharoor on a serious topic like foreign policy.
He said that if some Congress leaders have a problem with Shashi Tharoor’s views then they should ask questions to the Gandhi family, because the Gandhi family is silent on this issue. Vallabh claimed that the Gandhi family’s silence is a sign that it accepts Shashi Tharoor’s views.
The BJP spokesperson took a dig at the Congress leaders and said that they should take coaching from Shashi Tharoor before commenting on foreign policy. Those who do not have a deep understanding of foreign policy make themselves an object of ridicule by speaking on this subject.
