Chandigarh,. Action has been intensified against famous rapper and singer Badshah regarding Haryanvi song ‘Tatiri’. The Haryana State Women Commission has directed the police to arrest Badshah if he does not cooperate in the investigation and if necessary, his passport should also be confiscated, so that he cannot go abroad to avoid investigation.
Actually, Haryana State Women Commission had sent summons to Badshah to appear for questioning in this matter. He was asked to appear before the commission in Panipat by 3 pm on Friday. But when he did not reach within the stipulated time, Commission Chairperson Renu Bhatia instructed the police to take strict action. He said that Panipat and Panchkula police should take immediate action against Badshah and if necessary, arrest him. Along with this, information has also been issued in the entire state that until Badshah does not appear before the Commission, no program or show of his will be allowed in Haryana.
The chairperson of the commission said that if during the investigation there is a suspicion that Badshah may try to escape from the case by going abroad, then the police can also confiscate his passport. This matter is being taken seriously and there will be no laxity in the investigation at any cost.
On the other hand, Badshah’s lawyers had appeared before the Commission, but the Chairperson of the Commission refused to meet him. He says that the summons has been sent directly to Badshah and he himself should come before the commission and present his side.
Badshah’s lawyer said while talking to the media that he was given a fixed time by the Women’s Commission. But Badshah had already released a video on social media and apologized to the people and said that he had no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments.
Savita Arya, who complained in this matter, also spoke to the media. She is the president of Panipat’s organization ‘Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti’. He told that the chairperson of the commission had flatly refused to meet the king’s lawyer. If Badshah himself had appeared before the Commission by 3 o’clock in the afternoon, this dispute could have been resolved through talks. But in case of his not coming, it became necessary to take action.
The controversy started when Haryana Police filed an FIR against Badshah. According to the police, the video of the song shows girls wearing school uniform dancing in a Haryana Roadways bus and uses some gestures and words which are considered objectionable. On this basis, the police registered a case against Badshah and also started the process of issuing a lookout notice against him.
Apart from Savita Arya, there is another complainant in this case, Shiv Kumar, who is the director of Shiv Aarti India Foundation. They allege that the words and references used in the song misrepresent women and minor girls. Such songs give wrong messages in the society and can also have a negative impact on the young generation.
At the same time, Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission also took this matter seriously and wrote a letter to the state government. Commission vice-chairperson Aparna Yadav has said in a letter sent to the Chief Minister that Badshah’s song shows derogatory language and scenes towards women. The song depicts girl students wearing school uniform in an inappropriate manner, which also insults the education system and social values. Organizing programs of such artists can send a wrong message to the society.
The Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women has requested the state government to direct all district magistrates not to allow any of Badshah’s proposed programs or shows to be organized in the state.
The Commission says that it is necessary to protect the dignity and social values of women and strict steps need to be taken in this matter.
