Jaipur. Additional Chief Secretary Mines and Petroleum Aparna Arora has said that Mines, RSMET and Geological Survey of India will work together to give more speed to the exploration work of critical and strategic minerals in the Siwana Ring area. Due to the indication of abundant reserves of rare earth elements in the Sivana Ring area of ​​about 750 square kilometers, this area has become important for the mining sector of the country and for this there is a need to give more speed to the exploration work in this area. He said that nodal officers will be appointed by the state government and GSI for mutual coordination. ACS Mines Aparna Arora was presiding over the 12th meeting of the Joint Working Group constituted by the Central Government on Tuesday in the auditorium of GSI located in Jhalana. The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Mines, Rajasthan Mines Department of the Government of India as well as representatives of related departments including GSI, IBM, AMD, RSMET. ACS Aparna Arora said that Rajasthan has immense mineral wealth and there is immense potential for exploration and preparation of mineral blocks for auction. He urged the exploration organizations of the Central and State Government to move forward by sharing the exploration work with each other so that the situation of overlapping does not arise. He expressed the need to explore the possibilities of mineral potash reserves. He also visited the Mineral Museum of GSI.
JWG Member Secretary and Director GSI Harish Mistry said that out of 136 mineral blocks auctioned by Major Mineral in Rajasthan, exploration has been done in 110 blocks by the State Mines Department, while 22 blocks have been explored by GSI, 3 by MECL and one by AMD. Of these, maximum 97 blocks of limestone have been auctioned.
GSI Deputy Director General Western Region Lalit Mohan Singh Moura and Deputy Director General State Unit Vishal Sakhre welcomed that GSI of the Government of India, established on March 4, 1851, is making significant contribution to the mineral exploration work of the country through resources projects along with preparation of mineral exploration baseline data, satellite mapping etc.
Special Secretary Mines Namrata Vrishni, Director of Mines Ministry, Government of India Yogendra Bhambhu, Director Mines Mahavir Prasad Meena, Additional Director Geology Alok Prakash Jain, Superintending Geologist Sanjay Saxena, Sunil Kumar Verma, OSD Shri Krishna Sharma, Director GSI Sanjay Singh, officials of MECL, IBM, AMD, Mines Department and GSI participated in the meeting held on hybrid mode.
