There was a sensation in Patiala, Punjab on Tuesday when the body of a girl was found inside a blue drum in Railway Colony area. After the news of finding the dead body, there was panic in the entire area. Police reached the spot and seized the drum and started investigation. According to the information, the drum was lying in a suspicious condition in the Railway Colony area. When the local people started smelling the smell, they informed the police. When the police team that reached the spot opened the drum, the body of a girl was found stuffed inside it. To hide the dead body, a red lid was placed over the drum, so that no one would suspect it.
Police investigation has revealed that “Neha” is written on one hand of the deceased girl. On the other hand, there is a heart shaped tattoo, inside which the English letters ‘N’ and ‘A’ are inscribed. Scratch marks were also found on the girl’s face, due to which there is suspicion of a struggle before the murder. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it to Rajindra Hospital for post-mortem. At present, efforts are being made to identify the girl. Missing reports lodged in nearby police stations are also being investigated.
In the preliminary investigation, the police suspect that the matter may be related to love affairs. Officials believe that the girl was murdered somewhere else and later the body was packed in a drum and dumped in the Railway Colony area. Police are also scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby to find out who left the drum there.
There is an atmosphere of fear and panic in the area after the incident. Local people say that the incident of finding a dead body in a drum has shocked everyone. Police have said that the case is being investigated from every angle and efforts will be made to reach the accused soon. At present, police teams are busy identifying the girl and solving the mystery of the murder.
