New Delhi, 3 October (). Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Friday targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the misleading comment made by Saurabh Bhardwaj, the head of the party’s Delhi unit, about the ‘scheme’ of privatizing Delhi’s health services.
Describing Bhardwaj’s comments about the alleged mismanagement and privatization plan in government hospitals, Sachdeva said that such comments are unfortunate.
Virendra Sachdeva said that before spreading wrong information about the functioning of Delhi hospitals, Saurabh Bhardwaj should not forget that there were many scams in the region during his tenure as a health minister.
Sachdeva mentioned the alleged disturbances during the tenure of the AAP government, including machine procurement scams in government hospitals, registration of many patients in Mohalla clinics under the same mobile number and fraud in investigation and distribution of fake medicines to the public.
The Delhi BJP president said that before accusing the BJP of planning for privatization of health services, Bhardwaj should tell whether it is not true that during Arvind Kejriwal government, government hospitals were shut down important services such as pathology checks, X-rays and MRIs and handed over to private institutions, which led to heavy bribery.
He further said that the people of Delhi know that Bhardwaj and his AAP government are investigating the construction scam.
The Delhi BJP president alleged that Dr. RN Das, Secretary to Bhardwaj, was the patron of a non-licensed private hospital, where seven newborns lost their lives in a tragic fire- yet the former Minister did not take any action.
Earlier, Delhi BJP organized a tribute meeting in memory of Delhi Jana Sangh and former BJP President and former Delhi Chief Executive Councilor Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra.
The meeting was held at the Civic Center under the leadership of Delhi BJP President.
A large number of BJP leaders and activists paid floral tributes to the late leader. Union Minister Manohar Lal, RSS’s Delhi province campaigner Anil Aggarwal, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Radha Mohan Das Aggarwal and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed the meeting.
